Homebirth Midwife  Serving Kentucky

What is Midwifery?

Midwifery care provides you with a deeply personalized, individual, and comfortable experience as you embark on the journey of parenthood. Shared decision making is a key part of your care with me, and I will work hard to ensure that you feel safe and heard in your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Homebirth is a good choice for people who desire a low risk, autonomous, and supported environment as they deliver their child.

Philosophy

We believe that quality healthcare is a fundamental human right. Pregnancy and birth are an innate body process that impacts every life. As such, everyone deserves access to the holistic care and education of a midwife.

Free Consult

We offer free consultations for our midwifery care services. Whether you're considering home birth, standalone prenatal and postpartum care, or even monitrice services, our knowledgable midwife is happy to answer your questions.

Prenatal Care

Our prenatal care is in office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. To accommodate those who work full-time or find evening visits more convenient, we offer appointments one night a week, on Wednesdays. Our goal is to provide flexible scheduling to meet your needs.

We offer in-house ultrasounds performed by an experienced technician. This ensures that your results are available quickly and can be promptly reviewed by our midwife. We also provide Non-Stress Tests (NSTs), a quick and easy way to monitor your baby's health and well-being.

Birth

When it comes time to give birth, we are on call for you 24/7, available by text, email, or phone call. Together we will assess your labor and decide when is the best time for our arrival. We will then provide continuous support for you and your baby through your labor, birth, and immediate postpartum period.

Specialized Birth Support

We offer a range of specialized services to support your unique birthing needs, including water birth, VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean), breech births, and twins.

Postpartum

One of the best things about home birth is the postpartum support. We provide a minimum of three visits: a home visit between 24-48 hours, a home visit at 2 weeks, and then a final visit is in office at 6 weeks postpartum. Additional visits are available as needed for latch support, breastfeeding issues, and mental health care.

Payment

In order to provide midwifery services to everyone who needs care, we offer a sliding scale based on a holistic look at your financial situation. Unfortunately, we are unable to take insurance at this time, due to KY laws making it cost-prohibitive for most small practices. We are happy to take payment plans and discuss how we can make home birth financially accessible for you. Please ask about our scholarship opportunities for those facing significant financial hardship.
